| According to a recent nationwide
survey, nearly 70 percent of the country’s
forensic science laboratories are understaffed and
have projected shortages of educated, trained professionals.
As an answer to this critical need, Duquesne University
has established an entry-level, five-year Master
of Science in Forensic Science and Law. |
| The program, which enrolled its
first students in the fall of 2001, is designed
to provide the education and training necessary
for students to work in forensic science, whether
as scientists or administrators. This exciting program
of rigorous study is open to graduating high school
seniors who have demonstrated an interest in the
sciences and their application to the civil and
criminal justice systems. |
| As a joint program between the
university’s Bayer School of Natural and Environmental
Sciences and its Law School, it is the only graduate
degree program of its kind whose faculty consist
of both science and law professors. |

program’s homepage. |
